If you’ve never experienced the Maine coast on a cold day in March, you’re missing out. Yes, it’s cold, but that is what pockets or gloves are for. This past Saturday, we went to Bailey Island in Harpswell, Maine. We stopped at where the road actually ends that has a gift shop at the end of it called Land’s End Gift Shop. The view from there is nothing short of spectacular.

Outside of the gift shop, you will also see the Fisherman’s Memorial, which is a bronze statue known as The Maine Lobsterman. With the sea for its background, it’s a fitting place for it.

I like walking on a beach during the off-season. It’s interesting to see what the ocean may leave on the shore. Sometimes you can find sea glass, smooth stones and little shells. The scent of salt and the sound of seagulls in the air, along with the sight of the sky meeting the ocean, is almost a scensory overload, but not one I want to refuse. I could spend all day wandering on a beach like that.

It’s been a long time since I have posted here but I’m now, once again, restarting this blog. I tried a few years ago, but had trouble with the photos showing up. That problem has recently been resolved, so you can now expect to hear from me more. There’s been a lot happening in my life and I’m working on new adVENTURES (smiling), so stay tuned for upcoming news!!
