Do you have a Bucket List of places you would like to go? If you do, where would you like to visit or revisit and what would you like to see or do while you are there? I, of course, would like to go back to England. There is so much more I would like to see and do and explore there.
One place that I really want to visit is the Garden of Heroes and Villains in Warwickshire. It is only open once a year as it is on a private estate but I hope that someday I will manage to be there during the time it is open to the public and have the opportunity to see it. There are so many statues there! http://www.atlasobscura.com/places/garden-of-heroes-villains
Grimsthorpe Castle, Park and Gardens in Lincolnshire sounds interesting and I think it would be a nice day trip. I like the hedge art and it just looks like a beautiful place to wander about. http://www.grimsthorpe.co.uk/
I want to walk from Cambridge to Grantchester again It’s a wonderful walk and I enjoyed every minute of it when I did it in March. I think I would like to walk around the village of Grantchester a bit more and explore it also. You never know what you will find around the next corner.
The above photo is one I took on my walk through Grantchester Meadow from Cambridge on the way to Grantchester. I want to experience it again in late spring or summer and maybe see a bit more of the scenery by the river. The home page of my blog shows a photo I took of the path walking back to Cambridge.
I would also want to revisit the Orchard Tea Garden. http://www.theorchardteagarden.co.uk/
I think it would be nice to be there on a sunny day and have cream and jam on scones along with tea! Yummy!
Think about what you might want to do or see. It doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as just enjoying a cup of tea.
And ponder this, author unknown: “THERE ARE SEVEN DAYS IN A WEEK AND SOMEDAY ISN’T ONE OF THEM.”
I have been to Canada three or four times, a college trip across the border and back again the next day, across the border from Calais while there on business just to see what it was like, and once across the border as a member of our high school marching band.. all back when you could go back and forth without a passport. But, I want, no, NEED to get passports for me and my kiddo to visit Nova Scotia and New Brunswick at least or maybe Quebec. When we go, I want to take two or three days, stay in Airbnbs and really VISIT! I said we would do it this summer, but here it is summer and I haven’t gotten our passports yet. I’ve got to get it out of the someday list and soon!
The first step is getting your passports! Put it on your NOW list and make it a priority. You will be so glad you did.

My wife and I just got back from a weekend camping trip. We use to have a motor home and got rid of it years ago. I have avoided camping since then. We have a dog and he was such a terror I couldn’t imagine going camping with him without the motor home to contain him. I am in the Sacramento area of northern Calif. We went down to Fort Bragg and camped in MacKerricher State Park. The campsites were quite wonderful. We had access to the beach and the dog could go on a leash. We even ate a very nice restaurant in Fort Bragg I believe it was called Silvers at the wharf. They had a deck and the dog was welcome. They even had a pet menu. I thought that was nice for us animal lovers. It was separate from the regular restaurant so the animals didn’t bother the regular guests. I guess I’m getting off track a little but anyway what I’m getting at is you have to try something before you make up your mind not to do it. By the way the dog was absolutely wonderful on the trip. (Laughing)
I didn’t know there were restaurants that catered to people and their pets. That is a great idea. Imagine if you had not gone, you would have missed a fun experience. You are absolutely right, you should try something before you make up your mind not to do it. I’m curious about that pet menu. Was it specific to just dogs or other pets also?
The menu for the pets was a small plastic covered menu. It had three items on it. At the top of the menu it said ” For the rest of the Family. On the menu was three things. 1. Meaty Prime Rib Bone. ($3.50) 2. Beef Burger Patty. ($6.00) 3. Grilled Chicken Breast. ($7.00). So I guess most would be more suitable for dogs but cats might also eat those things.
Alaska would be a wonderful place to visit. Hop into a small plane and see the glaciers, remote mountain ranges and rivers from the air. When not in the air, Alaska offers some world class fishing from the coast line all the way inland.
Your description of a walk from Cambridge to Grantchester made me think that almost any riverside, urban or rural, is brilliant to walk along! I love the peacefulness of the Loire in central France, but equally pretty well any river can engender a sense of peace.
I agree that Someday should be a proscribed word!
Visiting Washington D.C. has been on my bucket list for years and this summer I get to go! When I was in high school I had the opportunity to visit German, Switzerland, and Costa Rica. I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything. Now doing more in the states interests me. I loved your quote about someday not being one of the seven days:) I am so enjoying your memories and photos from your trip to England. I look forward to more…..
I am glad you will be able to finally go. I hope you have Washington D.C. specific bucket list of places you want to see while you are there and that you get to see them all!
